St. Paul Student named Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship

Emma Schatz ’21 from Burlington, CT, was among the top three percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, or PSAT/NMSQT. “Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. They represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.” – Spokesperson for NMSC

Mr. Cary Dupont ’72, President/Chief Administrator of St. Paul stated, “We are all extremely proud of Emma and her academic development; she’s a great role model and represents the very best of St. Paul.”

Emma says, “It is truly an honor to be recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program. I’d be remiss if I failed to thank my teachers at St. Paul for the hard work that they do to prepare and support their students. I’d also like to thank my dad…for the $10 he said he’d give me if I mentioned him.”
