“Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.”

Peace & Greetings:

On this Pentecost Sunday, God has sent forth His Spirit thus calling and empowering each of us through our daily lives to carry on His mission on this earth. Come Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with the fire of your love so that we may intentionally and consistently create a St. Paul community filled with conviction and the values of Jesus Christ that, starting in our own house and extending everywhere, people will know more peace, more joy, more self-respect because they have come in contact with us.

Unbelievably, we are approaching the homestretch of the 2021-2022 academic year! The Class of 2022 celebrated their Baccalaureate Mass on Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. Gregory the Great Church. Archbishop Leonard Blair served as the principal celebrant. The 53rd Commencement Exercises of St. Paul were held the following night, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford where 122 students received their high school diploma. These serve as the culminating events of a St. Paul journey. They were truly beautiful occasions and we wish all our graduates the very best in the next chapter of their lives.

On May 26th, students and teachers from St. Joseph School and St. Matthew School (grades 5-8) joined St. Paul students and faculty for Ascension Thursday Mass on McPhee Field followed by a cookout and field day. We had another beautiful day and it was enjoyable to host our guests for the day.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023 who won this year’s Falcon Cup competition and will travel to Rocky Neck State Park on Tuesday, June 7th for their class beach day. Enjoy!

A reminder that this Thursday, June 9th is our last instructional day for the 2021-2022 academic year. Final exams, with a noon dismissal, are scheduled for June 10th (G/H), 13th (E/F), 14th (C/D) and 15th (A/B). Buses will be available. See the attached permission slip for early arrival/departure. Dress down ($10) during exams will go to support the important humanitarian work of Catholic Relief Services.

For planning purposes, attached are some important dates related to the 2022-2023 academic year. School orientation begins for all new students on Thursday, September 1, 2022 and for returning students on Friday, September 2, 2023. A more detailed calendar with school activities will be sent during the summer.

Congratulations to next year’s class officers: Class of 2025 – President, Eleanor Matusik; Vice President, Ella Dubitsky; Secretary, Zachary Cudjoe and Treasurer, Nicholas Rieger; the Class of 2024 – President, Anthony Matusik, Vice President, Allison Smoloski; Secretary, Anna Kronen and Treasurer, Emily Walker and Class of 2023 – President, Adam Zwolinski, Vice President, Teresa Strasser; Secretary, Kirsten Ward and Treasurer, Dylan Bird. We will begin working with them and student government in planning a more “normal” school year filled with traditional activities and events.

Good luck to our spring student-athletes who are competing for state championships this week. All our spring teams have made us proud! And to all our student scholars as you finish classes and prepare for your final exams … be spstrong!

Make good choices and take care of yourself as you enjoy a well-deserved, relaxing and safe summer recess. We will stay in touch with you.

In the Spirit of St. Paul,
