St. Paul Announces New Head Football Coach

St. Paul Catholic High School is pleased to announce Tony Mazzarella, a graduate of the St. Paul class of 1973, as the new head football coach. Tony brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the St. Paul Catholic High School community.

As a proud alum, Tony’s return as the head football coach is a homecoming marked by a deep understanding of the school’s values and traditions. His leadership, coupled with his extensive coaching background, is expected to inspire and guide the student-athletes towards achieving new heights both on and off the field.

His coaching career began in 1996 as an assistant coach at Southington High School, where he contributed to the team’s success until 2005. Subsequently, he joined St. Paul Catholic High School as an assistant coach in 2005, under the direction of then head coach Jude Kelly, where Tony continued to make significant contributions to the development of student-athletes until 2022.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Tony Mazzarella back to St. Paul. His dedication to our school, combined with his proven coaching expertise, will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our football program and the entire school community. We look forward to a successful and exciting chapter under his leadership” said Cary Dupont ‘72, President and Chief Administrator.

Tony expressed his enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating, “Returning to St. Paul Catholic High School as the head football coach is an honor and a privilege. I am excited to work with the talented student-athletes, and I am committed to fostering a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, and achievement. Together, we will strive for excellence both on and off the field.
