SUNDAY EVENING NEWS

November 7, 2021

Peace & Greetings:

Hope you’re enjoying your extra hour weekend and looking forward to coming to school tomorrow morning in daylight instead of feeling like its midnight. This Thursday, November 11th we celebrate Veteran’s Day. There may be no better way to honor a veteran, some of whom are St. Paul parents and alums, than in prayer.

“God, please let every veteran of our nation’s armed forces feel truly and appropriately honored by the attention and appreciation of their fellow citizens. Let no one feel forgotten or neglected. Let every man and women, young or old, feel the deep and enduring gratitude of our nation.”

Unbelievably, last Friday marked the end of the first marking period for the 2021-2022 academic year. No doubt, COVID-19 has disrupted everyone’s normal academic routine during the last two years. However, there is also no question that we are in a far better place today than we were a year ago. While many students have achieved success, some have found the first quarter a bit more challenging. Tomorrow begins the second marking period and a time for new beginnings. It’s a time to recommit yourself to be the student you want to be. Let’s look ahead … you have it in you!

Good luck to our athletic teams competing in the CIAC state tournaments this week. Our performing arts cast and crew will be returning to the stage for their fall production, Alice in Wonderland, the weekend of November 19-21. Tickets will be going on sale tomorrow.

We’ll hold a new event, an 8th grade carnival in the gym and dining hall, for prospective students this Friday, November 12th from 6:30 – 8:00 pm and our next Open House is Saturday, November 20 with tours scheduled from 10:00 am – noon. Encourage family members and friends with prospective students to check us out!

A reminder that school is closed Thursday, November 11th for Veterans Day. Thanksgiving recess begins on Wednesday, November 24th at noon through Friday, November 26th.

We take so much for granted in life. During this month of November let us find quiet time to pause, reflect and give thanks for the many blessings bestowed upon us, our families and the St. Paul community.

Make it a great week!

St. Paul, pray for us!
