| As an alum, past parent, current parent, grandparent, or friend of St. Paul, we thank you for being a part of our vision "to be a truly great Catholic high school". Here you will find St. Paul news you can use - delivered to you once a month during the school year. Enjoy reading about all the great things happening at St. Paul! | Baby Bottle Boomerang For many years, the Baby Bottle Boomerang has been a tradition at St. Paul as a Lenten Almsgiving Initiative. The Baby Bottle Boomerang benefits the mission of Carolyn’s Place in Waterbury, a Pregnancy Care Center that serves those facing unplanned or unexpected pregnancies. This past year, Carolyn's Place opened a new ministry, Cross Roads Women's Center where limited ultrasounds and pregnancy tests are administered. Our spare change, or perhaps the coffee we forgo as our Lenten observance can go a long way to assisting Carolyn's Place in their mission to serve women facing the challenges and concerns of a pregnancy that may not have been expected. | | Health Class CPR Students learning the life-saving skills of infant and adult CPR. Through hands-on practice, they are learning how to recognize an emergency and perform proper chest compressions to help someone in need giving them confidence and knowledge to respond quickly and potentially save a life. | Debate Team The debate topic was “This House would prohibit geofence warrants”. Students were asked to consider whether law enforcement should be allowed to use location data from cell phones to investigate crimes. Addison Kurtz '27 and Gabe Puskarz '28 won first place novice! Congratulations to you both and to the whole team! | Let's Do the Charleston - In Class! Mrs. Kelly teaches her Honors and AP history classes the Charleston dance in conjunction with their Roaring 20’s unit and Black history month. The dance gained popularity in the Jazz clubs in Harlem and eventually got more popular with the Flapper. It’s great to do something outside the box with my students. Check out one of the classes learning the Charleston. https://youtu.be/WHBqXzm6Uvg | | Thank you from the Advancement Office and the Forever Falcons Gala Committee The Forever Falcons Gala this past Saturday was an amazing night and what a fun, beautiful, full-of-community event we had which at the Bristol Event Center. As always, our community came together and bid for the kids that evening. | | This year, we have set a goal of $40,000 for our “Keep the Falcons Soaring Challenge.” Donations at any level will directly and immediately enhance our student's experiences at St. Paul in a significant way. This year we are raising money for the following projects. | | (1) ATHLETIC FIELD GROOMER Every practice, every game, every victory starts with great athletes and a great field. Your gift will help us purchase a professional athletic field groomer — an essential piece of equipment that will directly improve safety, performance, and pride for all St. Paul student-athletes, particularly in maintaining and grooming our softball and baseball fields. | | | (2) THEATER LOBBY REFRESH For 60 years, our performing arts theater has brought our community together to celebrate talent, creativity, and tradition. Now, it’s time for the space just outside the theater to reflect the same level of excellence found within it. We are seeking support to modernize the lobby and hallway areas just outside the theater by adding comfortable, welcoming furniture and installing mounted TVs to showcase upcoming events, recognize donors, and highlight national awards and achievements. Your generosity will help transform an aging area into a vibrant, functional gathering space — one that reflects the tradition, spirit, and excellence of our entire school community. | | | (3) SECURITY At St. Paul Catholic High School, the safety of our students is our highest priority. To further protect our campus, we are launching a comprehensive three-phase security enhancement plan designed to ensure our school remains a safe, welcoming environment where students can learn and grow. The Keep the Falcons Soaring Challenge will help to fund Phase One of this important initiative — installing secure key fob access on all exterior doors. This vital upgrade will strengthen controlled entry points and significantly enhance the protection of our entire community.
