Parent/Student Newsletter - January 2025

Faith Feature

As noted in an email last week, on behalf of Mr. Duffany, below is a reminder regarding the opportunity for St. Paul students to complete the Sacraments of Initiation at St. Paul. Archbishop Coyne has allowed St. Paul Catholic High School to offer a program for students in grades 10-12 who have not completed their Sacraments of Initiation. For those who are Catholic, this would include First Eucharist (as needed) and Confirmation. We also welcome those students who wish to become Catholic to join us.

We are here to support the parishes we serve and cannot put ourselves in competition with their sacramental programs.

All classes will run on Wednesday afternoons from 2:15 to 3: 30. See schedule for January below.

Academics & School Counseling

Mid-Term Exam Information

Mid-term examinations will take place from January 16-22, 2025 (no school on Monday, January 20). School buses will make regular stops in the morning and depart from school at 12:05 p.m.

Students who make a $10 donation in homeroom on Tuesday, January 14th or Wednesday, January 15th to support Catholic Relief Services will be allowed to dress down for exams. The regular school dress code will be in effect for all students choosing not to donate.

When students are not scheduled for an exam, they must remain in the Dining Hall for the entire exam period. They may come into school late or leave early if they have only one exam, but only if they have submitted the permission slip below to the Main Office NO LATER than Wednesday, January 15.

If a snow day occurs during any one of the exam days, the following school day will be used to cover the delayed exams, thus “bumping” remaining exams up one day.

School Counseling

BROWN BAG LUNCH SERIES: The School Counseling Department hosts our Brown Bag Lunch career panel series as a great career exploration option for our students. They hear about careers they may be interested in from a panel discussing their job and the path to their career, giving our students an overview of what they do and finish with a Q&A from students.

Students, make note of the following dates:
January 9th: Health Sciences
February 13th: Business, Management, Administration and Finance
March 13th: Education
April 10th: IT/Computer Science

Remember to visit the guidance office and sign up to attend.

SENIORS: Please share with your School Counselor by emailing or visiting them when you have been accepted to a school you've applied to. ALSO, please share your commitments when you have made them so we can celebrate you!
