| As an alum, a past parent, current parent, grandparent, or friend of St. Paul, we thank you for being a part of our vision "to be a truly great Catholic high school". Here you will find some St. Paul news you can use - delivered to you once a month during the school year. Enjoy reading about all the great things happening at St. Paul! | | President's Message “The angel said to them. “Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11 The old English Carole God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman speaks of “tidings of comfort and joy”. I am reminded of those tidings as we prepare to close these Advent days and welcome the birth of Jesus and celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord. What a gift that our God chose to become flesh and dwell among us. While we prepare for the coming of our Lord and make straight our own crooked paths, the world leads us to believe that our most important preparations are shopping, decorating, baking and more shopping. As people of faith, we know different, but balancing what we know to be true and what the commercial world tells us is true can certainly be challenging. We need to remind ourselves that on that dark night in Bethlehem more than 2000 years ago, true joy came into the world. Not joy wrapped in fancy paper, but in swaddling clothes and lying in a manager. There were no big parties, just shepherds following a star and visiting a young family who could find no room at the inn. The first Christmas was simple and beautiful. That simple beauty is the star we should all try to follow this holiday season. I pray that this Christmas you will be able to find your own moments of quiet joy as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and remind ourselves that the real joy of Christmas came in that small manager so long ago. Come! Let us adore him! Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Healthy 2026 to you and your family. James J. Cooper | Faith Feature Thank you to Father Daniel and Mr. Duffany for organizing this sacrament of reconciliation this week. Christ is truly the reason for the season and for St. Paul Catholic High School! Wednesday, we had five priests to offer the sacrament of reconciliation to students and faculty and they were busy for the entire hour - waiting lines for confession!! Thank you for coming to St. Paul. Christ is alive in our school. Thank you to the Religion Department for doing such a great job preparing the students for the sacrament! There were multiple comments from the priests about how ready the students were, how open, honest, and vulnerable! Also, thank you to the entire faculty and staff! Without your support and encouragement, we would not have had over 25% of the student body turn out for the sacrament! Thank you for your willingness to support the sacramental life here at St. Paul and for understanding the particular needs of our students in this regard. | | | | Assistant Campus Ministers Thursday during their fellowship time, the Assistant Campus Ministers built and decorated Gingerbread houses. They were on display in the Campus Ministry Office for everyone to see and vote on. What a great way for the 34 students in the ACM program to get together and spread some Christmas joy! | | | End of Year Giving As we approach Christmas and the new year, we at St. Paul find ourselves reflecting on the big-heartedness of past and present families, alumni, and friends, and the incredible difference your support has made in the lives of our students. Thank you! Your generosity plays a huge part in why it's easy to say that there is something greater here. Each day our school community works diligently to continue to be a truly great Catholic high school, nourishing the minds, hearts, and spirits of our students. We are hopeful that they will grow and flourish into morally sound young adults who are prepared to lead the way with integrity, compassion, purpose, and virtue. If you haven't already, we'd like to invite you to prayerfully consider an end-of-year gift to our Annual Falcon Fund. No matter the size, it is an investment in our young people, helping us continue to provide them with exceptional programming that nurtures the whole person. We are so grateful for all that our community does for St. Paul, and we thank you for considering a gift to the Annual Falcon Fund. May your Advent and Christmas be filled with God’s peace, joy, and abundant blessings. | | With Debate Team Advisor, Mrs. Kelly, it was a busy Saturday the first weekend of December for our Falcons as the Debate team was on the road. We began with Light Up St. Paul Friday evening in front of the school with an Advent Wreath Prayer Service, followed by caroling as we walked along the row of luminaries given in honor or memory of loved ones. After the luminary walk we gathered for hot cocoa, Christmas music, s'mores, wreath decorating and our first ever Knockout Basketball Tournament. Saturday morning was cold and windy but didn't deter any of our Frosty Falcon 5K runners. Over 120 runners battled the snow (that we ordered up just for the Frosty Falcon 5K - haha) all in memory of Michael Walsh '07. Our younger runners had a great time running the Reindeer Mile and then warming up with hot cocoa and cookie decorating. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared in this annual tradition!
