St. Paul Performing Arts Performs
Anne of Green Gables

St. Paul Catholic High School performing arts program is excited to present its fall 2025 production, Anne of Green Gables next weekend.

Generations of readers have adored the best-selling novel Anne of Green Gables and now this new adaptation for young audiences comes to the stage at St. Paul Catholic High School. The award-winning performing arts program will present Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery November 14-16.

In this adaptation by Sylvia Ashby, aging brother and sister Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert send to an orphanage for a boy to help on the farm. To everyone’s surprise, however, a mix-up brings them a romantic and hot-headed 11-year-old girl, Anne Shirley. Over the years, she wins their hearts and turns their stodgy, rural Prince Edward Island community into a bright world of “kindred spirits.”

Anne of Green Gables is being brought to life on stage by an extremely talented cast under the direction of Mark Mazzarella ‘78. Savannah Sullivan, a sophomore, will be portraying the “loquacious orphan” Anne Shirley along with 26 members of the performing arts troupe. This stage adaptation is faithful to the original novel and is appropriate for all ages.
