We provide parents and students with the following services:
Academic Guidance – Guidance which assists students and their parents in an effort to acquire knowledge of the curricula and to explain choices available to students, to plan a program of studies, to arrange and interpret academic testing, and to seek post-secondary academic opportunities.
Career Guidance – Guidance which helps students to acquire information and plan action about work, jobs, apprenticeships, and post-secondary educational and career opportunities.
Personal/Social Counseling – Counseling which assists students to develop an understanding of themselves, the rights and needs of others, how to resolve conflict and to define individual goals, reflecting their interests, abilities and aptitudes. Such counseling may be provided either (i) in groups in which generic issues of social development are addressed or (ii) through structured individual or small group multi-session counseling which focuses on the specific concerns of the participant(s).

THE DEADLINE IS NEAR
This letter is to inform you that the application period for Fall 2018 High School Partnership Program at Tunxis Community College is April 1st through June 1st.
The Partnership Program is an excellent opportunity for eligible juniors and seniors to experience the rigor of the college classroom, enhance their academic experience and earn college credit while still in high school.
This is a selective program and is offered on a space available basis. To be considered for the program, students must meet the application requirements and place into credit level English and math.
Students may be eligible for a placement testing waiver based on SAT or ACT scores. (A waiver form is included in the packet). Students must submit the waiver request form and required documentation to be considered for a waiver.

Orientation and registration for the High School Partnership Program takes place January prior to the start of the semester.
Please take a minute to review the program criteria and application requirements attached and let your students know that now is the time to apply.
PROGRAM APPLICATION DEADLINE:
All application materials must be received by Friday, June 1st, 2018.
PLACEMENT TESTING DEADLINE:
Testing must be completed on or before Friday, June 1st, 2018.
This letter and packet contains important information for your students – please share it with them.
Due to time constraints, the application and testing deadlines will be strictly adhered to. Please inform your students accordingly.
Important note for returning students: Please notify your students currently in the program that they will need to re-apply to the program if they wish to continue in the Partnership Program.
